I ordered the wrong filter size by mistake. I called and talked with the staff and he told me that it was not a problem. They shipped me the correct size and tole me to just donate the wrong filter. i was very impressed with the service and painless task of fixing this mistake. I'm so glad that I went with this company. My AC unit requires two 4" filters, and its sort of an oddball size. I didn't have to worry about that not in stock stuff and extra charges.

The nominal size is rounded up to the nearest whole or half inch, and printed in a larger font.
The actual size is an exact physical measurement of the filter, printed in a smaller font.

If your previous filter does not have dimensions printed on the frame, use a tape measure and record the length x width x depth. Then, round up to the nearest half inch to find the corresponding nominal size.
